IT Applications and Software Consulting - not as straightforward as it used to be
The author of the report, Erin Hichman at ALM Intelligence noted that “PwC expertly applies tools to not only accelerate application portfolio and rationalisation assessments, but also quickly identify strategic value. This goes hand-in-hand with the emphasis the firm puts on pinpointing the right stakeholders to support the case for change.”
The report states that PwC was best in class for ‘Needs assessment’ and also for ‘Enabling tools.’ With regards to ‘Needs assessment’ ALM comments that “to accurately identify and define the client goal, PwC has a thorough and systemic process to determine the right stakeholders for each initiative, and ensure those stakeholders play active roles throughout the project. The firm conducts stakeholder mapping, which includes identifying relationships, influence, and commitments. It then assesses stakeholder dependencies and assigns each stakeholder to a category (Arm’s Length Power, Comprehensive Power, Operational Power, and Disempowered). This process repeats until each category is filled and interviews confirm that each mapping is accurate.”
And for ‘enabling tools,’ ALM comments that “PwC uses a robust toolset during the engagement that can be left behind at the client for continued operations and management support.”
Paul Gaynor added:
