PwC named a leader in Production Strategy Consulting 2019

PwC named Best in Class for Needs Assessment.
PwC was announced as a Leader in ‘Production Strategy Consulting 2019’ by ALM Intelligence, a company that assesses consulting firms in defined markets on the basis of their breadth and depth of service capabilities and ability to deploy those across highly-complex client requirements.
According to the report, “Production Strategy is the overall policy that guides the design (where and what) and operation (how) of manufacturing operations. A well thought out production strategy flows from and supports the overall business strategy (why) by optimising those core competencies that bring success in the marketplace. Production Strategy consulting services include manufacturing network design and make/buy decisions.”
Commenting on the leader status, ALM states that “PwC builds on client’s differentiating capabilities with production strategies that put the customer at the center while ensuring a proper balance between enabling growth and driving cost efficiencies. Believing that long-held assumptions and ways of working limit companies’ ability to respond to these sorts of changes, the firm prioritises helping clients build comprehensive business cases to reconceive their value chain operating model and structures with an emphasis on the value of flexibility and responsiveness in meeting changing customer needs.”
PwC named ‘Best in Class’ for Needs Assessment.  The report states that “clients call on PwC to bring an outside perspective in benchmarking the manufacturing plants that comprise clients’ global manufacturing footprints. The firm brings a suite of proprietary diagnostic tools to accelerate fundamental and structured evaluations of each plant’s competitive position based on its current cost structure and defining capabilities as well as opportunities for productivity improvement, complexity reduction or growth potential that provide clients with an objective, fact-based understanding for making strategic decisions.”
Commenting on PwC’s approach, Naima Hoque Essing, author of the report, states: “PwC’s approach focuses on developing financially-driven and data-supported manufacturing network strategies that support differentiated capabilities aligned with a company’s overall strategy.”
She goes on to say: “The firm’s consulting process starts with a determination of the true business requirements based on the nature and needs of the markets and customers served. From there, it seeks to identify points of leverage across the value chain through the fundamental and structured evaluation of the performance, core competencies and competitive position of each plant in the network using the application of proprietary assessment tools and benchmarks.”
Steve Pillsbury, Digital Operations Leader, PwC, said:  “We are proud that our focus on value-creation and our track record of delivering results for our clients has also earned us recognition as an industry leader by ALM Intelligence.  We aim to help all of our clients build relevant, agile production strategies that capitalise on technology and operational innovation to address changing external demands and competitive pressures.
