Manufacturing Sector Emerging Fitter from Recession, Says PwC

PricewaterhouseCoopers HQ, London
According to a recent survey by PricewaterhousCoopers (PwC), the manufacturing sector is emerging from the recession stronger and leaner than ever. PwC carried out a survey of UK-based manufacturers and found that they were not only able to improve working capital by up to 15% in the recession, but also to improve gross margins by 1.5% through cost saving initiatives. PwC believes that manufacturers in other territories can, and will draw parallels with the UK survey, as they also operate multinationally and face similar challenges as their peers do in other territories.
